ABOUT

Rock Mattresses are a thinner profile gabion and traditionally have been used in applications such as creek and channel linings where long term scour is an issue. The confinement of appropriately sized stone within a mesh effectively increases the resistance of such rock to movement for a given flow condition and subsequently protects the underlying soil from scour. Cirtex rock mattress product is typically supplied in plan area of 6m x 2m with varying thickness products ranging between 0.17m to 0.3m.
Like the Cirtex gabions the product is traditionally supplied as a zinc coated unit but may also be supplied with a plastic coating over the zinc where corrosion is likely to be an issue.

Additionally Cirtex are able to supply product manufactured under a Galfan wire coating process where the addition of aluminum to the zinc process can provide additional life to the wire in extremely aggressive environments.
